Has anyone used the 100% epoxy from garageflooringllc? Just curiouser I maybe in the market for a thicker build durable off white color flooring. And really need to make sure I do not get any problems with hot tire pick up etc as I have a lot of sticky tires cars that will be rolling on the floor for detailing.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Stealthz

I live in England so we likely have different products available, but just to pass on my experiences...

So in our previous house I used garage floor paint I bought from the usual home warehouse places. I followed all the guidelines in terms of letting it dry for several days before putting the car on it. Despite this the first time the car came in with hot tyres the paint lifted.

So when we moved into the current house, I spent a lot of money on buying 2-pack epoxy factory paint - it takes more care and attention to put down, but it is excellent stuff, it is so tough, hasn't lifted AT ALL from the tyres and still looks great some 3+ years after it was put down. I used the Vuba paint which is sold here in the UK.

I'm sure you can find same thing over there is the States.

Good luck! Simon

Thickness of the coating has "0" to do with hot tire issues. Prep is the key.
Skip the prep or do a poor job and the thicker coating is MORE likely to fail than the thin product.

ok I appreciate that. I know just as in auto body and painting etc, prep is everything and majority of the work in my opinion. I only specify a high built because the surface is rough far from smooth and I'm used to seeing thick coatings in aircraft hangars.

Hi Stealthz. I used this product in August to do my floor. I posted up some before and during pix under the heading Lady's Garage. I meant to post some after but suffice it to say that it looks awesome. I had extensive spalling, cracking and general floor decay. I spent a couple weeks prepping, including filling all the areas of damage with epoxy patch (two different types), diamabrushing, scrubbing, and cleaning. You really cannot do enough prep if your floor is as bad as mine was.
I went over the options for coatings with Justin and we came up with: Oil Stain Primer, one coat of 97% solids then one coat of 100% solids and a PU top coat. DO NOT skip the primer step. I was worried about all my patches showing through. They did not. It might have been overkill doing both layers but it looks so good. I really wish I would have gone with the off-white instead of medium grey but I didn't have the experience to know how well the product would cover.
I would recommend the product providing you follow the instructions. I had a great experience with it. Hope your project goes well!
