I *only* get about 10-12 years out of my Redwing #402s... Already on my second pair and I could have had the first pair re-soled.

Make sure you keep them oiled as they deserve it.

Hey thanks for the reminder! I have those exact boots.

I've always been rather cheap when it comes to footwear, buying $15 walmart specials and thinking I was doing something.
Of course, 4 months later I'd be cursing the chinese POS's like no tomorrow.

Finally, about a year and a half ago my wife talked me into a pair. I felt guilty spending the money BUT I am pretty sure I wear them every day, just about everywhere!

Busting out the mink oil now ;)

Actually I wouldn't wear it in the garage.. but I think they look very nice and would like a pair one day as a dress shoe. How do you like them?
Best shoes I have ever had, so extremely comfortable.

They are driving shoes and meant for heel-toe-downshifts and the like. These are the only shoes I can honestly say I feel zero pain in after standing aaalll day at work. The prototipo's were only $65 :wtf: which is incredible for what they are. They do look nice, but when you wear them in the garage and get them dirty they clean up extremely nice. My pair has been through hell and back and as they sit they look pretty much brand new

These are the ones I have:

I am pretty happy with "Mecahnix" brand in general so decide to give their steel toe boots a try.. seems like they revamped their line of shoes lately with a steel toe offering. Traction is my main concern with shoes so I am happy to see treads are like a tire and feels grippy. (not hard gloss plastic like my $20 contractor boots)

My feet destroy shoes and boots, I have had at 25 different brands, and most last no more than 6 months, The redwings lasted 4 years, and I beat them badly, mud, dust salt, pool chemicals, rocks, gas, oil, you name it. the steel toes run small in the toe area, I had rocky's about a year, florshiem[ very comfy] about 2 years, timberland, I got them wet, and about 3months later I was walking and the entire bottoms of both boots came unglued, and I had to ride my bike 50 miles home with no soul. hehe. I keep my boots clean & use mink oil reg. all hiking boots & athletic shoes **** in the garage, one, they hold small rocks and pieces of metal in the hundreds of cleats and fissures two, they melt or burn when welding or burning, and the glue the little chinese kids use isn't that good anyway. not their fault. I would't buy shoes made by people that don't wear them.
