Getting ready to design and build a 24x32 garage on Cat Island, Bahamas. Searching for some designs we came across this site. Lots of ideas here, we want to have a 'carport' at the gable end over the overhead doors, this will give is a nice view of the ocean. With the roof pitch at 5/12 the design presents a problem, where to place the stairs. On solution we thought of is to put the overheads on the eave side, that way we can have a 1/2 bath and laundry below the stairs. Must give this some thought as the lot is on a hill.
Here in the States we have a large farm, the house is appx 5500 sq ', has an attached 24x24, the barn is 30x40 with workshop and gen shed.
Lots of toys, need to downsize as we are getting along in years.
