Garage gable vent

Hello, I'm a first-time home buyer. I recently purchased a house with a garage that was being built by the previous owner. I'm currently trying to finish all the exterior work to weatherproof it before winter gets here. I see they were going to install a gable vent in the peak. My question is what type of gable vent do I need? And will I need to take off the existing siding to do?

I'm kinda leaning towards the idea that it's purely "architectural" gable decoration. Is the opposite end the same?
That's going to be a custom made louver if you go with it.

Almost looks like a hay loft door was intended? What kind of flooring is up there?

I think you guys are right; it was just meant to be mere decoration. There are no vent holes behind the cover. There is also no gable vent on the other side of the garage.
