I'm thinking about setting part of the garage up as a gym, though it needs to take up as little space as possible as I don't have much as it is.

Just wondering if anyone has done something like this before, pics would be good.

Thanks

We have a room set up in our shop as a gym. Keep in mind that most garages have the temps set low but in your area you may have the problem with getting too hot and not enough air circulation. I am sure you don't want to have your overhead door open all the time you work out so I would incorporate a good fan.
Painting the floor will help keep the dust done and not choke you out.
Most equipment has wheels incorporated into them so when done you could position it against a wall out of the way when not used.
You will want to have some sort of mat that will be comfortable when lying down or on your knees. I would not use the large foam pads and put your equimpment on that as well. The equipment needs to be as firmly planted on the floor as possible. Garage floors are the best for this in that it will not transfer any vibration from jumping or droping things.

Solo flex and since added a treadmill. I ran a batting cage in here for a few years as well.

I have a 100lb Everlast and a Speed Bag in the corner of my shop. Very good workout and some fine aggression relievers they are.

My Floor Jacks sit under them so I can just roll them out and pound away.

There is a guy in my neighborhood that built a building behind his house. It would make a great garage but it only has like 2 windows and 1 entry door. The interior is lined with OSB. Well its not a garage..it a gym.. Well shortly after being done, it went up for sale. It has been for sale for a long long time. Alot of money for a dedicated space
