1. Do you actually use it?
2. How do you use your garage?
3. A/C and/or heat in your garage? If not, it will really limit when you might want to use it.

Depends on how big your garage is...

Put it in the slot that normally her car is parked in... bet its back in the house in no time.

I've got a dip/pullup rack and a few kettle bells. Everything I need for a killer workout--so yes in the garage. Another plus is you can crank up the music. Make it as uncomfortable as you can for a woman so they'll stay out.

The best workouts are had on garage machines. Move them in there. Like Theo said you can crank the music up, but he's wrong about the woman staying out as a blanket statement. I'm currently trying to do the same and get some new equipment. At first I didn't want to take up anymore floor space. But for the workout capability, I'll take it. I plan to leave enough room that a vehicle can be pulled in, either for work or to park. It's really tight though due to the small dimensions.

Why does she want it in the garage? Does she usually hang her laundry out there?

All my old gym sets ended up covered in laundry. I have extra room now that the X, her laundry, and the gym sets are gone. It would be nice to get another one but the "D" just cost way too much and leaves you hurting more than the gym gear did.

last house i owned had a 2 car attached garage, neither my truck or van would fit in it.

however there was enough room for my reloading bench, toolboxes, 2 harleys, squat rack, & 400lbs of iron.

weight bench was in the dining room....:shocking:

cheaper to join a gym, they have a lot of better equipment, AC, sights, showers, pools, treadmills etc, did I mention sights :), I paid way too much for the space in my garage for weights and clearance around weights.

I have a squat rack, 8x6' platform and lifting blocks in my one car garage. my wife puts strollers, a wagon and i put the lawn mower on it. I just move stuff to the other end or outside if I want to lift. I am working a lot so I don't have time for it.

here is a lousy picture of when I first got the weights. this is when I first finished the platform too. those are pendlay weights made in usa and my Eleiko bar.

I've had exercise equipment in my garage for years. It was really the only area of the house that I have complete control over and putting it in any other part of the house would require me to displace someone whenever it's time to workout. One of my peeves is exercise equipment that becomes a rack for clothing and other stuff. Everyone in my house knows the rules; never leave your **** on Dad's exercise machines. Even if I'm not using it for a while, it always looks like its ready to go. As my sons grew into men, they started using the equipment too. During their high school years the garage became somewhat of a hangout for my sons and their buddies.
