garage heater advice

I'm putting in a mr. heater 50,000 btu. Can i " T " off of my half inch dryer pipe or should the heater have it's own pipe? Thanks.

My clothes dryer has a half inch pipe going to it …I'm guessing? The first 2 pics are in the basement and the third is behind the dryer. can i T off either of these for the garage heater.

It depends on the length of pipe between the the dryer and where it ties into the meter or a bigger size pipe and the lengh of pipe between the dryer and the heater you are trying to install and btus of the dryer. But all of this info above is based on using the canadian gas code. Your local code could be different.

It might be possible to tee off your 1/2 inch dryer supply line, depending on the length of that line and the btu requirements of the dryer and the Mr Heater unit and the distance from the tee to the Mr Heater. Don't forget to include the effects of all the fittings you'll have to use in your calculations...
