Im about to install a ceiling mount Fahrenheat 5000 watt heater 30 amps to my garage. It calls for 10-2 wire with ground Im 60 feet from the panel box in basement however I have 240 volt electric stove outlet that I no longer use thats only 25 feet from garage. My question is can I put a junction box at the stove location in the attic and wire nut inside the new box and then run the 25 feet to garage or should I go to the panel box in the basement and run new circuit. It calls for 10-2 with groung and a double 30 amp breaker this is the current breaker that was being used for the stove .Run new circuit or tie into the existing 240 from the stove thanks..

Splicing on and continuing the circuit using a proper junction box is OK, however, the stove circuit is most likely 50 amp, and the wire is larger. If so, you will, if you use 10 gauge wire, need to drop the breaker size back to 30 amp, to match the smallest wire in the circuit.

Charles you are correct this stove is a 50 amp double pole breaker. So you say just lower the breaker to double 30 amp and junction the 10-2 wire to the existing wire for the stove to the new heater in the garage. Is there any thing or more I should know like type of wire nuts type of junction box etc..I thought I could junction the two lines but just wasn't sure thanks

If the existing stove circuit happens to be aluminum SER and you splice copper to it, you need to use a proper splicing connector for aluminum to copper.
