Have a NG hanging heater in my garage.. Hamilton brand
Basically which thermostat should I use that actually works?
I see reviews all over the place. Right now I'm using a wall switch to run it

You should be aware that alot of digital thermostats dont work when its cold. I know...it sounds dumb as hell and it is.

You need the old style or one for low temp.

I have a Reznor heater and I used a plain old simple mercury thermostat. I wanted to set it lower than the thermostat allowed, so I mounted it a little out of level. Then I set it, let the temperature stabilize, and marked it with the new temperature. A couple of days of experimentation let me know where every temperature I want is located.

I use an old Honeywell round t-stat that I took out of my house back in 1993 with a mercury switch, works great and will set as low as 40* which I set at 44* when I'm not working in garage.

jumping in, as I am looking for one as well. I plan to install a NG Hot Dawg heater, and was planning to use a digital, but didnt realize there could be problems.

I would like to keep it at a min of ~45-50* when I am not out there, and I was hoping to have it accessible through Wi-Fi so I could turn it on from my phone so that it will be warm by the time I get out to it.
