Garage heater venting options

So I'm finally ready to hang my Mr Heater in the garage.

All along I planned on venting it horizontally, straight out thru the wall. (No bends). That was until I saw the price of the "required" class 3 pipe required. The horizontal kit costs nearly as much as the heater itself. FWIW, the horizontal run would be 3-4 ft. (Detached garage, no inspection needed)

I'm partial to the horizontal vent mainly for ease of installation. I really don't want to cut a hole in my roof. (Potential leaks, dealing with attic insulation, etc)

Should I be considering the vertical option, or is there a cheaper way to vent it horizontally?

What vent class can be used for vertical venting?

My Beacon Morris venting instructions said to use Class B double wall vent for horizontal venting which is what I used. Not expensive at all, However, I believe they changed it to the Class 3 vent the following year.

I also used the concentric vent kit so I could set it up for closed combustion. The Beacon Morris BRT unit heaters are setup to for either open or closed combustion by just using the concentric kit.

I went through the same thing 2 weeks ago, I hate cutting holes in the roof. As long as you have the flashing correct it won't leak but I still hate cutting holes in the roof. I did go through the roof because the Cat 3 venting is way too expensive for my tastes. You can get B-vent right at Depot and they should have everything you need.

As much as I don't want to, that class 3 stuff is stupid expensive. For the price difference I can buy the b vent stuff and pay someone to install it.

Then if the roof leaks, I have someone to call back..
