Fahrenheat FUH54 electronic heater.

100 amp service to garage. To get 220, I have to use a double breaker.
Have the 30 amp dbl breaker. Using 10/3 wire. Black and red from the breaker.
This goes to a 4 Wire 30 Amp 250 Volt Flush Mount Dryer Receptacle.

Want to use the 4 prong dryer cord for the heater. (easier to unplug when not wanting to use)
Yet the wiring diagram in the heater manual does not have those connections is looks like.

Heaters do not normally have a neutral, so a 4-wire receptacle is not needed, a 3-wire 250V rated receptacle is fine, but not a 3-wire dryer receptacle though as they are not a grounding device. Save your money & use 10/2 NM cable, but if this 4-wire receptacle is existing use the black, red,& green of the cord, then insulate the white, & tuck it out of the way in the heaters J-box, in reading the manual, it's 208 or 240V only so no neutral is needed.

Ok, so, as in figure 5 in the manual. Black to black, green to ground, use red in place of the white in, tuck the white off to side and insulate very well.

That's it. I used 10-3 because I only needed a couple of feet and it was cheaper. Just cut off the white on both ends and toss.

Great heater by the way. My gas unit took a dump, so I picked up one of these. Worked GREAT!
