Was talking about installing a propane fired garage heater and a builder I work with often said that since this is in a garage, that the flue pipe must be dual construction. One for the exhaust and a fresh air intake. I have never heard of this. Does anyone have any insight?

I have never heard it being a requirement. It isn't a bad idea, but I am not aware of any code that requires it. Your area may require something efferent than here.

The biggest offense I see with garage heaters is if it is a horizontal run the vent needs to be stainless steel. Some require a vertical run to be stainless, some are B-vent.
