I am going to have a garage build in a couple of months. I want a 24x32 with 12FT ceiling in one bay or all the way across for a 2 post lift. My question is the minimum height of the peak can I go? I would like to keep it at 15FT to 16FT max. That way it will not impede on mine an neighbors view. Looking for suggestions and ideas. Thank you.

if you put a 5/12 pitch on it the 24' way, you'll be about 17'-6" from the floor grade. if the building is raised up out of the ground any you have to add that to it too. gonna be hard to do with a twelve foot ceiling

Keep in mind the standard dimensional lumber sizes. Try to minimize your waste and time of cutting. I would think 16' would be your best bet. I have a 12'6" ceiling in my shop and the lift has plenty of room for ease of work at a standing position. But I also have a mezzanine that I have above a sectioned off room and it only gives me about 4' of head room. It is uncomfortable to maneuver items hunched over.
Plan for the future.
