So, a little more progress with the garage. The loft and the stairs are ready, but before I start dragging in tools and furniture I'm not very happy with the floor.

The floor itself has a very even surface, except some scratches at one position from the forklifts driving there. But it is very dark and dirty. So i decided to clean it up good. So I mixed soap water and spread it all over the floor and brushed it with a broom before vacuuming the soap water up with the wet vacuum cleaner.

I also tried to mix some screed to even out the scratches from the forklifts, but the mix was to thick and it did not float as good as I expected. Anyway, it became slightly better than before.

So I masked up the walls against the floor and started to roll out the floor paint.

This is how it looks with the finished paintjob, I'm quite happy with the result :)

With all of that white, just put a couple of lights under that mezzanine and that will light up quite brightly.

Nice job!

Thanks for your nice words! I have some lamps with fluorescent lighting, next thing to do is to get them up there under the ceiling and get them connected.

Had to try with some of my cars in the garage as well to get an impression of where i can place shelves and workbenches and still have the possibility to work and go around the cars.

The space is limited, but with some planning and getting inspiration from some of the other threads here at Garage Journal I think it will be possible to create a solution where it is quite nice to work. There are a lot of master space savers on this forum which I find truly inspiring!

During the winter season, my Hymer will occupy the outer part of the garage space, but still it will be fully possible to do maintenance and still have enough room to be passing the car.

The stairs are occupying some of the space there, but then again it give me some possibilities to make shelves for storage or tool drawers under the stairs as well :)

So next step will be to utilize the space in the loft by making some shelves, but first of all I need to get rid of the dust on the walls and clean the place up a little bit.

Also got help from the electrician to get the power for the lamps installed. Gave me very good worklight below the loft. I'm very satisfied.

I have also blocked the joists as arsco suggested to do to avoid them from twisting.

So, been a while since the last post, but the next step is to better utilize the loft. My plan is to create some shelves there where I can store parts dismounted from the car I'm working on. It is nice to have the interior and glass out of the car if it is much welding and grinding. So my next step is to create some storage space for the dismounted parts to get them out of the way for my work.

So I start by creating some 'ladders' which I attach to the wall. Then I will also create some support from to the floor. I will screw and glue the boards to the ladder. Not the most solid storage, but more than sufficient for its purpose. The main thing is to get the parts out of the way for the sparks from welding and grinding without ending up with a pile of parts which will be total unmanageable.

Ser veldig bra ut! Moro med noen piece'er også! Ser ut som det er stort potensiale med den store takhøyden.

Looks very nice! Fun with some graffiti as well. Looks like there is potential with the great ceiling height.

Tusen takk - lokalet fungerer veldig bra. Greit å beholde noe graffiti, men trenger å ha det lyst for å se hva jeg holder på med.

Thank you very much - it is very functional. Okay to keep some graffiti, but I need the brightness to see what I'm doing
