Overall pretty happy despite Lowes screwing up the paint color. It turned out a shade darker/bluer than the rest of the garage. Touching up the other walls led to a lot of extra painting.

That's why you go to Porter Paints and buy paint. Better quality and they will match all colors; they make the Olympic One paint so they have those colors that are the same at Lowes. Also, it the shade is not the same they would have mixed a new batch and probably let you keep the other stuff too.

I cut up another 4 sheets of plywood (and at 17 cleats per piece of plywood making 136 total feet), I am almost at a quarter mile of french cleats. Another piece of plywood has went into just the cleats and other hangers. :D

Wiring is almost done with the subpanel wired up. All but one 220 outlet is in. Compressor and lift wiring is ready, just figuring out the conduit. The inner garage is finally organized. The 4 sheets of french cleats cut today will outfit those walls. Time to figure out a little plumbing in there.

Looks great, and thanks for the french cleat recommendation. I've heard mention of them a lot but your thread (and the link to family handyman) put me over the top, it's a great idea.

I took the compressor off the skid by myself ... and about watched it go through the back wall. I thought I could balance it on one leg and kind of weasel it off, but it didn't go so well. I should have waited for help. The area to the right of the drill press will be where the sandblast cabinet sits. The area in front of the lift is still a mess, but that's for another day.

I got the back walls completed, minus the air lines ran. I hung some more cabinets, organized, and cleaned. A few more minor details and this area is done.

Hmm that french cleat system seems pretty good, might use it for my next garage.

Built some tire racks. I was worried they would hold, but so far so good. :)

I used some leftover black pipe, bought some chain rated to 500 lbs, and used some cut french cleats to stabilize the back side. I put the Shelby wheels up first to see what 200+ lbs would do, then went with the truck tires. It was an "experience" to say the least getting them up there and wondering what was going to happen. I hung my fat self off the bar a bunch before putting the tires on them. I will stain them next weekend.

Parked the car as far forward as possible just in case something decides to come off the wall. I was a little worried hanging that much weight off the wall without spreading it out some more... :headscrat

Nice! I will need to do something of the sorts in my garage. Life in a townhome with a pretty narrow single car garage is rough.

Love the color scheme and how the whole finished project is coming out. You are making great use of this very unique space. I'll bet there's a lot of satisfaction in all the DIY you are engaged in as well. I will be following progress as well.

There is a certain feeling of satisfaction that comes from making this stuff at home versus store bought stuff.

A little more organizing done, but actually wired in the subpanel and started checking all the outlets. I got the compresor to run for the first time -- surprisingly quiet for such a big compressor.

I am going to redo the wiring between the main panel and subpanel. I ran 6/4 wire and have been told it's not sufficient -- back up into the attic I go. We are going to run a 3 gauge wire to make sure pushing 100 amps won't be an issue if we fire up more than one thing at a time.

Cleaned up some more. Found some water lines behind one wall in the inner garage, so getting running water in there won't be so hard at afterall. The next biggest challenge will be completing the airlines --> need to get some threads cut, then dope in all the remaning lines and connections.

Started making a ton more cleats. This is probably the longest and hardest part of all this. I never want to have to go back and make more, so doing 100 right now.

North wall -- trying to get the front bumper somewhere on the wall, but it's a PITA trying to lift it solo.

That dodge is crazy!

There is 50 + page build thread on Pavementsucks.com and Pirate4x4. It started out as 1/2 ton gasser with an auto. After a few different drivetrain combos, went to a diesel with a manual, locked rocks with coilovers. The truck has taken a beating.

It may get dismantled after the lift installation is finally completed (tomorrow). Not sure if I am going to build something else, build something with the parts, sell it all, who knows...
