You explained it quite well, sounds like a variation of a rain screen

Nice build too! Love the solitude the forest provides

The 1x12 boards that are flush to the sheathing are 10" apart, and another 1x12 is placed between them, with 1" overlap on each side, so there's a hollow space behind every other board. The space at the bottom is sealed with a strip to prevent critters from crawling up.

I hope that helps! Kind of hard to explain!

Ahh, thanks for the explanation.

Well, my builder is done and gone, and the garage door install was completed today. I still have to get the heating system installed, finish some staining on the outside, finish installing some lights, then dive into the insulation and interior walls.

The electrical panel that we had to tap into was on the furthest possible corner of the house (of course) but it was a very straightforward job of running an underground line. I didn’t get any pictures of the trenching machine in use, dammit. It was pretty treacherous on frozen, slanted ground. I was afraid my builder and it were going to roll down the ravine!

Here’s where we tapped in.

Over 100 feet of line was trenched and run. Here it is after it was mostly filled in.

Digging the hard Georgia clay would have been back breaking without a powered trencher!

Supply line into the box in the garage.

60 amps, with a single 220 receptacle for future use.

Let there be light! I hung 9 two-bulb, 4-foot fluorescent fixtures with LED bulbs. The LED bulbs are awesome!

Over 1,000 feet of Romax was run to wire a 24' x 30' garage! I was going to tackle it myself, but it would have taken me a month of Sundays. I'm glad I paid my builder to do it.
