Garage insulation

Hey guys, it will soon be time for me to insulate my new shop. It is a 24x28 pole barn with metal siding. My dad has one like it and he used the styrofoam looking stuff and plywooded the walls.

I also do a lot of work at night (small kids) so I am looking at making it as quiet as possible.

Do you have any suggestions on what would work out great?

I insulated mine with vinyl backed insulation.....I installed it after I built shop (different than most do it)....I did it this way becuase I did not want to smash the insulation between the ratefrs and exterior finish.....I feel my way gives the insulation better R value

I used the nails that have teh plastic washer to install it

I'd say closed cell foam for sound and insulating capabilities (but i don't have $$ yet to do it- Jmo )... use what you have and if it isn't enough- add more.
