Jay here from the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin. I have been on viewing the site off and on for several years. Started getting ideas for how I want to build and then on how I want to wire and heat a garage.
Well, I finished it this last weekend. The slab is 38' by 25 ' with a 5' porch to match the front of the house. I framed up a 12' section on the end with the windows for a woodworking shop. That section has 1.5' of pink styro in between 2x2 sleepers with red oak flooring. And pine carsiding on the walls.
We bought a 1.5 acre lot two years ago, and got the house put up last year. Moved in one week before Christmas. But the outbuilding wasn't complete due to the contractor dragging his feet and not pouring the pad for my outbuilding when I wanted it done.
I framed the building with some help, and set the trusses with some different help. And I paid a friend to put on the shingles. But other than that, I did the rest.
I made the carriage doors by laminating pink styro between plywood.
Got the table saw set up yesterday, and started building an out feed table for it.
Now to get to organizing the 'garage' part and get my Jeeps in there. I have a 1999 TJ Wrangler that need a little love to get back on the trails, and a 47 CJ2A that needs a LOT of love the get back together. Along with a 1952 M100 military trailer. Yeah, going to be a bit tight in there.
