Looking great John! Nicely done with the interior finish too.

Something is missing though, what could it be? Ah yes - where are you going to house all your rims and tires? :) NBL!

I'm just finishing up my 24x22 garage - just putting up the last few pieces of OSB, then I have to prime them (just like you did). I should have pics ready soon.

See you back at Nastyz28.com!

Small world,huh Kirk?

Just be sure to prime with oil-based primer like I did or the latex primer will keep soaking in to the OSB...got that recommendation from my painter.
Two coats of primer and one coat of good quality latex paint and you should be good to go...

That's a nice garage. Did you buy the building as a kit or did you just buy the materials and build it up from plans?

Thanks guys for all the nice comments,so nice to see some of you guys from the other boards but hey...cars & garages, right?

The building was delivered and installed by a 3-man team in just about 1 1/2 days for $11,300 complete.I supplied the slab of course and did all the electrical, insulation, and interior of the building.

PS:Here's the '69 Z/28 by the way:

With today's steel prices that's not a bad price, especially considering it was installed for that price.

Yup - one of the great tips I picked up here when I was considering using OSB to finish the interior. I've bought the primer, just need to find a day when I can paint with the doors open.

I didn't catch that here, but when pricing plywood:shocking:...it seemed like the best choice.I looked at several different OSB and decided on a certain 3/4" Canadian brand because I liked how the smooth side looked. We were careful to make certain we used only the smooth side.I used 25 sheets with very little waste really, and I paid I believe $13.44/sheet.

Plywood can get to like $25-$30/sheet...!

I talked to a builder today who recommended hanging the osb, then waiting 6 months before painting. Something about it drying-glue? This guy has never steered me wrong before. I wondered about spraying with a HVLP. Sure seems like it would be faster.

Yup. I looked at plywood too and quickly changed my mind, and I wasn't interested in drywalling. Our building industry is in a bit of a slump - I paid just under $8/sheet (plus tax).

I love the chevy sign on the outside, where'd you get it?

Bought it from the internet, can't quite remember where at this time, but I can do some research. They gave me free shipping...then realized they lost their shirt...so they raised the price of the sign about $100 the day after I bought it.

Dragster Racer,
I have never heard about a 6-month wait time before painting...you'd think this stuff would be plenty dry from sitting around the lumber yard though.
I thought about spraying it but since I had no experience with that method,I decided to use a roller.2 coats of oil-based primer (used all of a 5-gallon bucket to cover 624 sq. ft.) and 1 coat of latex paint covered perfectly.

Kirk,
$8/sheet for 3/4" OSB...?Good deal man!
