I don't know if this has been brought up before but I think it would be pretty cool to meet in different parts of the country and swap tools and stories. No money involved, just good ol' horse trading.Just a thought.I myself live in central florida.

How about 6 to 8 guys from the Midwest all meet in my garage and demonstrate to me exactly how you would insulate, drywall and paint it? Then you can show me exactly how to put down all the Racedeck flooring (or expoxy it--your choice).

Then we can talk about how great Snap-on is and bash the Taiwan stuff. It'll be great fun! :)

I tried to get one together for the mid atlantic area last year and only had about 8 guys commit. I was planning on spending all day Friday preparing and have food and a great show. Too much effort for too few folks. I wish you luck and if you have enough guys in your area, you might do ok.

My next idea is to have a mega tool sale for all the local wrenches (I deal with a lot of them) and invite GJ members to come and perhaps sell their wares also. That may happen this fall.

Getting people to commit to a day and time is hard, especially if they have to travel some distance. I'd commit in a heartbeat but I'm at a point in my life where I can do that. If my kids were home or if business couldn't wait (ie: I was broke at the time) it would be tough to make and honor that commitment.

Then, the following week-end they could all come to my new shop and demonstrate how to hang steel on the inside, install a 14x13 roll door, run wiring and then use my 2000 ft/lb impact to loosen and tighten 2" nuts.

! :)

Reminds me of Tom Sawyer's technique for getting the fence white-washed.

I'll give you 2:1 odds that we couldn't find that many guys that knew how to wire my garage for 220 as well as plumb it for a utilitub.

Heck, I'm already producing car show/swap meets here in the midwest (central Ohio). If someone wants to organize a bunch of GJ folks to come and buy/sell/swap and tell lies, I can arrange a special area for us all. But I'll have to leave most of my stuff at home. Running this event takes a lot of time. But my Sundays are not too busy.

Just an idea.....

My next car show event is in September, in Springfield, Ohio. Then I have another in November, mostly indoors, of course. Food, security, location, motels, are all in place already.

Lump, I think I might go to the one in september just to say hi to you. Oh wait, I'll already be there for the IH Scout show, but then, you knew that. LOL
