l have noticed as of late, garage journal seems to be hogging memory or something, as pages are slow and choppy when scrolling down, also when posting, letters in words are slow to complete after typing them.
I did try restarting my computer.
This seems to be the only site doing this.
any one else notice this?
Thanks,
Tony

I switched from Firefox to Chrome and also got better performance.

Some other things to do.

Install and run CCleaner. Don't forget to run it against the Registry (second icon on the left). Reboot.

Run you favorite disk defrag utility. Then run it again. It you have time, do it one more time.

Or download contig.exe. Technically it is not a defrag tool, but it has almost the exact same net affect. It needs to be run in a cmd.exe window. The best way is to enable the Admin account, and then reboot in Safe Mode as Admin. Run contig.exe against the top level folders in C:

Learn how to use Windows Task Manager (tskmgr.exe) and Resource Monitor (perfmon.exe). At least then you will know who is eating up CPU cycles, memory and network bandwidth.

Using Ubuntu & Firefox. No anti virus or spyware programs which can slow things down just by having them, and no need for them. Best upgrade I ever did.

Defrag has been unneeded since XP.

Use Firefox, and AdBlock plus. Ccleaner, as well.

Defrag can be automatic, if it is configured that way !

I find that chrome is faster and uses less memory than Firefox (which I used for many years), especially if you have 2 or more processors. I also find that I do not need AdBlock.
