I discovered this site recently looking for garage flooring options. The forum had come great info and after ordering a sample from Race Deck I decided to buy from them. The Factory discount offered to Garage Journal members saved me a considerable amount from the original quote from Race Deck. The tile price was reduced from 3.49 to 2.99 and the shipping estimate went from $90 to zero with free shipping to GJ members.

If I remember correctly, Race Deck had a sale for President's Day. Wonder when they are going to have another sale?

You may have a problem with shipping cost. Seriously when you buy something from the states does the custom duties negate any price savings?

I think you can do even better...I requested a quote from them, and got the following:

713 SF CircleTrac (reg $2.99 PSF) GJ pricing $2.69 = $1917.97

I was WONDERING what the heck GJ pricing was! I guess it is because I had indicated that I heard of their product on this forum.

It may well be worth it, but for me, for someone who likes to wrench, weld, paint, build stuff, etc. in the garage, I think epoxy may be a better bet. I do like ease of installation, the idea of being able to replace tiles that I will no doubt damage, and even being able to take it with me for my next garage when I move, but still, a little too pricy I think.

Shipping even small items overseas is a huge PITA. I sent $32 worth of fittings to the Netherlands and it cost $25 postage to insure it's timely arrival. Timely is about 15 days or so. So any discount our overseas friends can get helps them considerably. A lot of customs duties and VAT is based off the purchase price, so the less the better. Try reading the restrictions and VAT notations on the Royal Mail web site - you'll see why lots of eBay ads say "48 state shipping only" ;) Sadist dream job - writing regs for a government agency.

I think the difference in your price quote and mine is the amount of purchase.
I only bought 160sf for a 10 by 16 foot strip plus the perimeter pieces. I went ahead and ordered and was glad to get the savings I got.
