From advice given in another thread, I went to the original installer of my AC system when the house was built in 2014 and apparently Lennox will cover my condenser coil replacement, labor and Freon in both AC units.

Nice. I just saved myself $1,800 on my out of warranty 2012 Tacoma by finding out there is an extended warranty on a secondary air valve assembly failure issue. Toyota is fixing for free. Never would have known had I not taken the five minutes to research it myself. Independent shop told me it wasn't covered...

Gotta remember these instances for all the times other things don't go so well!

All the money I have saved because of GJ? Well, I spent it on tools. And some of them haven’t gotten used. That’s okay- it’s an “investment”.

Not Toyota, but I've even had other brand service departments tell me a known issue not covered until I printed out and gave them their own TSB. Then they fixed it for free lol.

That's crazy. Was it a high end unit? I have an XC20 that was $10k to install and it only has a 1 year labor warranty. 20 SEER variable speed inverter drive plus 2 stage gas furnace. Part warranty is good but not labor.

I was going to replace the unit with a 2 stage Trane and Hyperion air handler because spending $1800 to replace coils every two years is more expensive in the long run. Thankfully I wont have to, Lennox is honoring the "spirit" of the class action settlement although they tried to weasel out because I did not file some form that I did not know about after I had the coils first replaced under warranty 2 years ago. All turned out good.

I should probably check and see if mine is registered. I went through a guy who is authorized to install Lennox equipment but does not sign up for any of the rebates. I think that is a separate fee he would have to pay every year. Took him 3 days to remove and replace. I don't think he had ever installed an XC20 but it still working well 4 years later.
