Through some good suggestions on here it seems in everyone's best interest that we have a logo contest for some Garage Junkies Tshirts.

I only have a couple requests...

1) The logo must be family friendly, no scantily clad women.
2) The logo must be able to go on both black and white Tshirts.

The winner will get 2 Tshirts with their logo and bragging rights. All entries must be in by April 15th, and the forum members will vote on which one is the winner.

I'm attaching some Tshirt templates to use for ease of judging. Keep in mind that I will also need a 200dpi original in png format to use for screening the shirts.

Here are some good tutorials at Cafe Press on designing graphics for Tshirts:
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/images.aspx

The logos can either be posted in this thread or emailed to me. It would probably be better to post it here though and get some suggestions from members since they will be the ones judging.

webmaster(at)garagejunkies.net

Good luck to all those who enter and I'm looking forward to seeing some cool logos.

***EDIT: It seems like a vast majority of people including myself prefer a small logo on the front chest area and a larger logo on the back. I apologize for anyone that has designed one differently, but please make all of the entries with a small logo on the front and a large logo on the back. Thanks!

Can we do a back design, too? Some of my ideas kinda require it.

I'd like to keep these fairly inexpensive if at all possible, and as long as it isn't too much more it should be okay. Let me check on how much that will effect the pricing though and get back to you.

I figure ever since it'll be for a web site, I guess I should add the ".net" :willy_nil

Edit..
And just for S's&G's I did a banner too....

sg69,

The design is perfect. Just make the whole logo a little smaller on the shirt. Then it will be Perfect!

You should have a "Black Shirt" option and a "Red Shirt" option. Many "things" made for the garage are Red. Not to mention that no mechanic wears white! No way! It would eventually end up in the rag bag.

A couple of suggestions/concessions to reality-
A pocket on the front -great for pens/markers/glasses/smokes.
Go with a cotton material-breathes better in the heat and safer for those of us who use fire/flame and weld in our garages. Synthetic shirts melt and burn-cotton may burn, but at least you can get it off.

why not just set up a cafepress.com store and just put which ever logo on all the different shirts so people can decide what they want and the burdon is on cafe press to print and ship. i've used it in the past, it works out well, shipping is fast and prices are fair.

SG69! That's some talent there buddy! Very nice.

I agree with Wolverine, the front of the shirt to have a small (pocket sized) version of what you've got. I'd take two of those right now, in black!

and another vote for heavy/medium cotton!

I know we're getting picky, but I wouldn't mind a long sleeve tee for us "biker types" and welders.

I've worked on several designs. This is for those of us that like to keep it simple.

I've also taken blurbs from posts I've read and added them under the logo. Here are a few more that could be used:

I just purchased a garage with a house attached...
My wife has the house... I have the garage...
...my sanctuary...

Take it easy on me...

hey fellas, it might be a good idea to hold off on this for a bit... I know bad timing, but if we can't talk the guys over at garagejunkie.com out of their domain we will be changing our own name...

I apologize and will keep ya updated!

Whether the site is .com, .net, or whatever, I assume it will have "garage" in it somehow. I'm of the mind that says keep the logo very simple, so it can be done in only one or two colors. I also think it would be good to do a logo that can be embroidered on the pocket area of a polo shirt, or on a cap or patch. That way you can have a shirt to wear to a concourse as well as a t-shirt for cruise nights. Graphics isn't my gig, but here's a first shot.

It's a stylized letter "G" that would look like a garage around a car shape.

Bent open ends

I know its sloppy but what do you guy think? It was sprayed on with a home made stencil, so an iron on or silk srceen would be much sharper. on the front pocket would be G.J.

Sorry but the bent wrenches looks goofy. Like snakes or crude flames. Maybe if the mouths were squared off more like a wrench.

I'd vote for sg69 design.

I like the square G with the car inside. Maybe could have several logo's, one with a Mustang in the G, and another with an old hot rod and even one with a .. gasp.. Chevy.

Very nice design! Best one so far IMO. I'm still a Garage Junkie at heart...it was a better name, and besides, if you type in garagejunkies.net you still end up here.;)
