Garage Layout with Lift?

I'm going to be building a detached garage. It will be 30' wide (Barely) by 35' deep. Two doors, one 16' one 8'. I will be installing a lift and would like to be able to have room to work on 2 or 3 cars. Ceiling will be 10' with a 12' tray where the lift will be located (is that high enough?)

I'm having trouble decide on which lift to buy as well as where to position the lift in the garage. :willy_nil

I'm thinking that for ceiling height issues the lift will need to be in the center of the garage. If I do this, will I have room on each side of the lift to work on other cars?

My other option is just doing one 16' door and putting the lift at an angle off to the side of the door. Does that make sense?

Any thoughts? Any pictures of your garage layouts?

Thanks!

My shop is of similar size. I wanted room for 2 cars and a lift. I went with 28 deep by 35 wide. I would have preferred 30x40 but was limited to 1000 sq ft by local code. I went with the most shallow depth I thought I could stand in order to maximize the width.

I built 8' stud walls on 2' of block for 10' ceilings. 2/3rds of the building used storage trusses, and 1/3rd is vaulted ceiling about 15' high for a lift. I put a dropdown set of attic stairs in the truss side for access to storage.

I'm going with a Rotary 2 post assymetric lift.

I think 12' should should be fine. I did some math with both the Back Yard Buddy and Autolifters lifts and with the height of my car I can get away with an 11'' ceiling.

Autolifters
Backyard Buddy
Eagle
Bend park

These are a couple of names that you can start doing some research on.

You can call BYY and they will send you out a dvd for their lifts.
