Garage lift width recommendation

I have a 24x24 foot garage, so its probably about 23 feet wide after cynderblock. I was looking at different lifts, for example the pro park 9 which has a width size on the outside of the colums of 121 inches. The more standards models have a width of 103.

SO the difference here is the 15 inches. I would like to have the wider lift but the columns will be halfway into the garage. My car is wide sports car so I only have a couple of inches from mirrors to columns.

So what would you recommend, get the wider lift and don't worry about the columns. Are the columns a problem if they extend into the middle of the garage?

Does a wider lift offer any working on car benefits or any other benfits which make it worth to get? Or is is it just easier when pulling car in and out?

If you go with an asymetric lift (posts are angled 30 degrees) you dont need the extra space for the doors. I bought the Bend Pak XPR10AC and am very happy with it. I got it from Automotive Service Equipment and had an authorized installer come out and put it up. Total cost with install was 2700.

Based on the lift you mentioned I assume you are looking at four post lifts. From my point of view the main advantage of a wider lift would be the ability of putting wider wheel base vehicles on the lift and the extra clearence pulling in and out. The wider lift may encrouch too much on the other side of the garage and limit you from keeping another car in the garage. It also depends if you have a one or two garage doors.

Well, my garage is only 24' wide but 32' deep and I have a two post and a 4 post, so you'll be fine. Follow my link in my sig for some pictures and ideas.
