*** Two post Lift with base plate?

Looking to aquire at a two post lift with base plate since I only have 10'11" ceiling clearance. One question I have is in the winter how do you clean the salt water around the base plate to minimize the corrosion from the salt water that drips from the car.
Also parking a car on a daily basis where the lift would be mounted. Is it easy to get in and out of the car?

Thx

rinse the area often or it will rust.position the lift so you can drive thru or short to open the doors fully

Is this really going to be a problem for you? The posts should be several feet from the car and your floor should slope towards the doors. (Water shouldn't run sideways.)

It depends on the lift, position, the car, and where you park it. I'd suggest putting tape or cones on the floor to represent the lift and then move your car around the garage and try it out. If this turns out to be an issue for you, you might look at MaxJax or you may find out that you need to go with an asymmetrical lift vs. a standard one. (I found that I needed to do the latter.)

On a baseplate lift the baseplate run right under the car, so water falls right down on it. And if the floor slopes towards the door any water that fall from the front half of the car will flow right into the baseplate and sometimes collect there.

A baseplate is not a good thing. Like you said it can collect and hold water and salt/slush. If you plan on parking a car in the middle of the hoist on a daily basis it will be a royal pain. And if you should have to roll a non-running car on the lift - have fun.
