Garage Light Bulb Problem

I have a Liftmaster Professional 3280 Opener and the lights on the unit don't work. I've changed the bulbs and they still won't stay on when the door opener is activated. If I turn the bulbs slightly they will go on but the next time I operate the opener, they won't go on. Maybe I have a short in the wire or the contacts at the bulb base need to be raised? Any ideas?

Thank You

Are they cfl bulbs? If so I have issues with the bulbs not setting down in the fixture far enough so they don't always work. Incandescence are my only real option for my door openers.

Are you using bulbs made for a opener? If not, are you using a 'rough service" bulb? There is a significant amount of vibration associated with most openers.

If you take a bulb out that doesn't work, have you tried it in another fixture? That will tell you whether the bulb or the socket is the problem. You may just have a dirty/corroded socket that could be easily cleaned with a piece of emery cloth - BUT MAKE SURE THE UNIT IS UNPLUGGED FIRST !
