I have recently purchased a home in Pensacola Florida nad the previous owner had the house rewired so it would not have aluminum wire in it. My question is as follows.
I currently have 2 duplex outlets in the ceiling for lights as that is what I had requested as I brought the previous home lights that hang from chains with me. I got a free light that is flush mount but I do not want to cut an wires and hard wire it in. Can I just buy the proper gauge wire and wire it into a three prong outlet? Then just plug it into the other plug? I currently have only two of the following on the 15 amp GFCI circuit http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=283285-1390-GU9804-T8-BKSS&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=1208545&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=req&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1. The new fixture is a 120v to 227v ballast and should be simple to wire as I would just go to the local store and buy wire and then wire it appropriately and just ensure it is protected around the metal casing and have three prongs. With the circuit being 15 amp and the ballast being rated at f32t8=.97a and the same with the other lights would it be a problem since it totals 15.52? I have attached a picture and it shows the ballast rating, or does that mean 4 bulbs at f32t8 use .97amps? If so then I would be good to wire this.
Thanks for the help in advance as this is the light above the garage door as the other two units are in the primary area, ad this one will just provide night lighting when needed.
