Garage Loft Question

Hello,
I hava a two car garage that I would like to build a loft in. Nothing big, just some storage space above the garage doors (when open). I dont have too much room as my garage is not too tall in that area, I would like to build two lofts one on each side of the garage door opener. My question is: Should i use a type of unistrut (channel strut) to mount to the ceiling? Or can I get away with angle iron? I will not be storing anything too heavy up there...
At the two sides near the wall I was going to use lag bolts to attach to the studs and at the parallel end of the garage door I would attach the unistrut to the ceiling using lag bolts.
Any input would be appreciated.
Paul

I am sure it all depends on the type of truss system you have. Keep in mind just because you don't install heavy items on/up there the material used to make the supports can be heavy.
If you have a 20' wide garage you could simply use two 10' lengths of Unistrut with one in the middle as a post to the floor or 45 deg angle back to the wall to support the load. This way it is not being supported from the ceiling.
