Garage Mahal Floor Cleaner - Dog Version

Frustrated with inexpensive upright floor cleaners? Yep, that's me.

I have 2 German Shepherds that routinely come into the garage to see what dad is doing.. and come in MUDDY this time of year. Moist in the Northeast. I've put down runners at the entry point and big outdoor carpet outside.. but in reality, these guys need to run around on carpet for a while to clean their paws and we know that's not happening.

The result? Four paw prints x 2 big dogs = pathways in the garage coated with footprints.

So, I've been through my share of inexpensive upright hard floor cleaners and they don't last for sh!t. $100-150 dolare range and they work for a season and that's about it.

Looking to up my game in terms of performance, longevity, ease of use and buy a real "tool". Wishing aVe would disect some of these but alas.. consumer reports isn't his schtick on these things.

Anyone use/have a Karcher FC7 or anything like it on this level? It's 4-5 times the cost of the cheapos and hoping this thing will mop/clean dog prints awesomely.

One of the cheapos I have not tried yet is the Hoover Power Dash. At ~$100ish.. my thought is why waste another $100 coz this thing will probably be DOA in a year.

Why would you need to buff a garage floor from muddy dog feet?
If the dog feets are muddy, I'd imagine so are the trucks and equipment going in and out?

This is a garage mahal. Beautiful epoxy floor with tea-size black pepper speck throughout. Usually, clean enough to eat off of until the big dogs come running in.

I like this! These guys are well-trained on many things, but the paw cleaning isn't their specialty, unfortunately.

I did have one that size. It was a Fang Viper.

The problem is they need a lot of room to move around and it was really only efficient when all the cars were moved out of the way. They are kick-azz commercial machines but not suited for 2000sq/ft of obstacles.

TMI extension but brings back memories.. Funny story with this Fang thang was that I bought it from a cross-fit gym. The owner was selling it because it didn't work.

Got it home and replaced the $10 power switch -- got a $6k machine for $1k.

Ended up selling it later that season because it was just a lot to move around and getting cars outta the way as I mentioned. An Amish diesel mechanic (no joke) showed up in a super-lifted 4x4 with his wife and took it away. My phone was ringing non-stop because I listed it for $2k and every cleaning company in the region apparently wanted to buy it.

On a Karcher note, I did some more research on the $500 unit I posted earlier. Seems as though the battery pack isn't user-serviceable. Anything is fixable, but that's one of the frustrations people have with it.

Yep, I make the dogs wipe their feet on the floor mat before coming back into the house.

If a GSD can be trained to find cocaine up the *** of a guy hiding in a secret compartment in a vehicle, it can learn to wipe it's feet!
