Garage Mahal Realized

I read an article in Car and Driver maybe 30 years ago entitled "Garage Mahals". What caught my eye was the black and white checkered floor in one of the garages, and decided right then and there that someday I would have that.

Here I am, 30 years later, and I finally did it. I installed a Race Deck black and white checkered diamond plate patterned garage floor, did a lot of clean up, some painting, lights and a Hot Dawg heater, and now I'm done.

First snow here 2 days ago, made a mess of my floor, and found the Garage Journal while poking around looking for advice on a containment mat, and ordered an Auto Floor Guard mat from Amazon, coming next week.

Great forums...looking forward to spending some time reviewing them.

Nice garage. The checkerboard dresses up bare studs and cinderblock. I thought it was tile and cedar at first.

My wife hates the checkerboard. It would keep her out of the garage. I will probably go gray on gray with gray accents.
