Reality Shows? I lov'm. Especially after you watch them and you feel like you learned something. I was watching this show called Garage Mahal and I think it would be awesome to have a garage like the ones on the show.

My question is, Does anyone out there really have a garage like the ones in the show?
For example a hacked car made into ice chests or tool storage. I have the a beer fridg. and the Reflex-tile from the last show, but I do not have car hoods moving up and down to cover shelving or cabinets that convert to sitting space. Do you?

This may be a weird question also; if you do, how old are you? 20s 30s 40s 50s 60s 70s???

I am in my 40s.

My thoughts exactly... Where was/is this show?? I'd like to see some of those wild ideas. I only have room for usefull and functional storage ideas and tools, but its always interesting to see how other Designers have tried to do it. Not sure they actually would use any of their own designs, but they are creative if not a little off the wall.

I watched the DIY network for a month while it was on for free. Then, just as they where advertising theat Garage Mahal show, the free trail ran out!!! Damn!

So, is it worth ordering the channel for?

Just for that one show? Nope, they convert garages into useless theme rooms....

Guy Fieri's garage is pretty cool with some good ideas that a lot of other garage guys could use. But the garage that has a half pipe in it :wtf: Not really a garage if you ask me.

I watched the show on Guys garage when it was on DIY, but never noticed until the end of the above clip that the shelving behind the bar is made from a stepside truck bed. I kind of like that idea :bounce:

On a little sidenote, here is an article about Guy and the cars in his stable. http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_news/2008/112_0806_guy_fieri_celeb_drive/index.html He's a little bit of a gearhead

that show is lame.. they take a garage and waste it by turning it into a crappy home theater, or a game room for the kids, etc, etc

DIY used to have a fair variety of automotive and other guy-type shows, all of which are gone now and replaced with shows from HGTV. DIY used to have a couple auto repair and resoration shows, an RC model show, and I think a model train show.

Of course most of the above was too far over the head of most viewers(anything beyond waxing), so they got cancelled.

Somebody has to say it. The people of garage journal could make a much better show. I've seen way more amazing garages that I'll never own here, lol. Might not be a bad idea to start a youtube channel...
