I figured it was time to post up the plans for my garage makeover. I did the first makeover about 10 years ago which consisted of building the shelves to the left rear, putting up drywall, painting, and installing our old kitchen cabinets after a kitchen remodel. I wish i had some pictures from when I first finished, it was nice and neat, not that it's a huge mess right now but it's way to messy for my liking.

The only visible change in the last week was the addition of the 2 HF tool boxes and side locker and the removal of a bunch of banners that were cluttering up the walls.

There used to be a Craftsman 26" 18 drawer combo to the right of the gray door and a big old bulky mobile workbench where the HF boxes now reside.

The plans are to build some overhead storage cabinets above the tool boxes, new and more lighting, painting, then last but not least flooring.

But first thing first, I'm going thru every cabinet, drawer and shelf and re-organizing/getting rid of a bunch of old junk.

Here is what i'm starting with.

About the only clever thing I have to show from the original makeover is this. I used one of the extra cabinet doors to cover this opening so I still had access to the top of my electrical panel for any wiring up-grades I need to do

Looks like you've got a great space to start with! I'm in a "part 2" (really 3) myself - after seeing so many other garages I was finally convinced that enclosing the storage was really the key to making the space seem more open and clean....

Look forward to seeing your progress!

Exactly, and I did forget to mention I'll be putting doors on the exsisting shelves.

Stop teasing with the pics of the front of the car! What is it? I'm guessing Nova II? Looks like you park two cars in the judging from the tire spots on the floor. Just my $.02, Have you thought about putting plywood in the attic then drywall for the ceiling? might give you extra storage space to keep garage looking clean like you want.
And is the diamond plate for counter top?

I'll probably do the plywood up top at a later date then just paint the bottom side of the plywood and the trusses white. I don't want to get to carried away cause i'm sure this isn't where we're going to retire.

And yes it's diamond plate on the bench. It seemed like a good idea at the time and it was free. I'll be changing it out during this makeover.

Beautiful Nova II! Im guessing that wasn't free.:spit: Wish I live close by, im needing a couple of pieces of diamond plate to put down on my floor for the tires so the tile doesnt get that black tire mark. you might want to keep it for your tires. Looking forward to coming pics!
