Stray cat!!
Just showed up one day in Nov '18 n looked rather unkempt, hung around about a year n 1/2 and got brushed everyday after we became friends, left n havent seen it since. Think it belongs to a neighbor but not sure since he seems to be distant to my wife n I for some reason.
Oh well... hope the cat is safe.

Those are the best pets! You get all the upsides but none of the vet bills or actual responsibility. Hopefully your little buddy is safe inside or maybe he got too old to roam.

I used to have a cat like that--used to come around anytime I was working in my shed. She used to hang out and watch whatever was going on with great interest.

My kid used to have a cat that disappeared for days at a time. It would live at neighboring people’s houses sucking up the food and then move on. Made the rounds and back every week. Took a year before they all figured it out.

Used to have a very friendly kitty in our previous neighborhood. We'd always guess which house was her house based on where we'd see her camped out on the porch...until we came home one day and she was on our porch. She was very affectionate and loved to be in the middle of whatever I was doing outside. We even named her...get this...neighbor kitty.

When we first moved to this place almost 31 years ago we brought our cat with us. She adjusted to the move, we thought, but after a few months she would disappear for days at a time. It took awhile but we found out that she was going to the neighbors about 1/4 mile away, and they thought she was a stray and they fed her bread and cream and tuna--no wonder she hung out with them. We would pick her up when she was due for a vet visit, get her checkup and shots, and then let her go back to the neighbors.
