Hi guys,
Man cave No 2, I completed one a couple of years ago and posted here, since then we purchased the old house next to our own existing house. I have designed a new garage workshop and a new home for the family. We have renovated the old house on the plot and sold this off, leaving space to build a new home garage & office.
We will be staying in our existing home (funds permitting) until we have completed the new home later this year before moving everything across.
Thought i would share our progress pics.. of the garage.
Hopefully the pics come out ok, ive had to resize them according to the forum rules but they seem a bit small?

Build is in England UK, the old bungalow can be seen in the background. If you are interested i can post up some pics of the completed renovation, as it was in seriously neglected condition, had three people all wanting to buy it, and all fell in love with the rebuild.. plus they are going to have great neighbours!! (me) went with a really nice couple who are not dependant on the sale of theie house for the purchase.. ideal purchases!!!

the downside to the new build is we have to undertake a lot of sit eclearance, Im not really keen on felling all the established undergrowth and trees, and it breaks my heart really, but we will be complementing the build with a new landscape scheme when its finished, it will just take a few years to establish :(

foundations & substructure, the garage is timber frame, siting on a traditional deep strip foundation and concrete slab.
The substructure excavtion was rock solid. combined with a warm summer and lots of shrubs/trees in this location, our small digger only just managed.
We have fantastic weather so we could back the concrete lorries all the way into the site, saves a lot of dumper time!

Substructure brickwork.
Brickwork up to Damp proof course, anice view out the back field, and my trusty cocker spaniel whatching from our existing garden through the fence.

Concrete slab went in great, was intending to float finish but it didnt cure quick enough.

The next morning it had cured to hard for a float!! so i quickly hired a powerfloat, not great as a little too hard, but a reasonable save nonetheless. thats me on the power float.. Stressed!!
Had to clean the filters and drain out the fuel as poor prep from the hire shop ment it didnt rev out.. and run good. all i needed when im panicking to get a finish on the concrete!!!

Complete the brickwork plinth, then start on the timber frame..
weather still fantastic for the time of year!. lucky boy. some nice cloud/sunset formations to boot!

pictures seem small after previewing, how can i make them bigger for you guys without going over the max pixel size? or can i make the pixel size bigger in my batching but make sure the file size is lower??

Andy, pictures do look small...but I can still make things out. I could feel the stress from over here with your concrete concerns...concrete was the most stressful part of my build so far. What will you keep in your garage when it is done?

Looks like you're going to have a great building there, Andy. I'm looking forward to following your progress.
