I did a search and couldn’t find what I’m looking for, but if anyone knows of a thread that makes this redundant please let me know.

I’m looking for layout and dimensions of an office space in my shop. I would also like to have a sitting area with a couch and tv. And maybe a small 4 seat table and chairs. Really more of a hangout/living area than office, but with a desk and space for working.

Does anyone have pictures or floor plan and dimensions of a similar space? 6b6bc595d266801d26d834660d14b574.jpg
Here’s a picture of a G280 I work on, because what’s a thread without pictures?

If you're unsure of size, I'd suggest breaking out a roll of tape and start laying out stuff on the floor.

Cheap and easy to see if its big/small enough.

I think you could accommodate that in about 10x12 or 12x12.

It could be bigger or smaller depending on how much you have to work with from the start.

I should mention that I’m thinking I will build a separate room on the side of my current shop, so I can climate control it all the time.

x2 on the tape. If you have the furniture to layout even better. If not just use tape, but then put something like boxes at the corners at the correct height so you can get a feel what its like to walk around. You never get 0" away when walking next to something, but if you walk around tape you will.

From what you're describing, maybe look at the size of the living room in your house and go from there. If nothing else, you could temporarily rearrange the furniture in the living room to get a feel for what size is required in the shop.
