My daughter just started a " HOME BUSINESS " and her husband just turned one of the garage bays into a small office/work space, my question is what can we put in there to heat it in the winter ( small single car space ) would a ventfree heater do the job, and last do they make a ventfree with a thermostat?

Not enough info. How well is it insulated, does it have a ceiling with insulation? Is the overhead door insulated and have quality insulation.

If you got good insulation, you could heat it with an electric space heater.

What are your electric rates, do you have Nat. gas or propane. all these things and more contribute to a quality answer.

The problem with vent-free propane heaters is that they generate a LARGE amount of water vapor. This condenses on cold window, walls, etc and creates mold. I wouldn't recommend that option except for limited use.

They may be 'vent free' but they still use O2. I would definately use electric.

If you're feeling DIYish you could try a solar solution. It's a housing with aluminum cans and a thermostat switch wired in series with the fan's power.
The company I work with had some some interns build one. Kicked out a fair amount of heat- likely enough for a single stall of a garage.
