Hi,
I am a new bee to home diy. I found it's hard to find a perfect hanging bracket for my opener. I got copay brackets I think are pretty good but I need some shorter ones to make my opener level, any suggestions?1557443484215.jpg

I used those perforated angle brackets years ago I got from Lowe's or Home Depot. Cut to length. Here's two examples here.abd431da1cac4f92f78a0d0132f58c14.jpgd36ae394a8c71e8a43b97d82d3b120d8.jpg

Just an FYI the trusses/ceiling joists usually run parallel to the long side of the plug receptacle.
Use a stud finder or locate the drywall screws to find the framing and anchor/screw the brackets to that framing.
From the pic you posted I believe the framing is above the drywall joint closest to the electrical plug box.

I hung mine using rubber muffler clamps to reduce the vibrations being transmitted into the support structure, which was below the room above.

Made a big difference.

That stuff usually cuts with snips. If you don't own a pair get an extra one called bulldogs, they have a shorter hi leverage nose and are the fabricators secret weapon. That will gut easy Sawzall too, grinder, pretty much any method.
I tried today the brass are pretty thick, not sure if reciprocal saw should be used to cut this...
recip is ideal, I cut a 3 inch tube 1/4 thick with one the other day out in the field.
