Hi all
I am retiring soon and be returning home where I have a 6m x 9m garage workshop I'd spend the rest of my days tinkering away. Currently there are two cars on blocks and a disarray of parts, engines and tools and stuff awaiting my return.
I'm now planning the garage organisation. I am not naturally organised. When last on leave visiting home I seemed to aimlessly move stuff around without actually achieving anything.
My plan is to:
* get the cars running/rolling again to make space
* insulate and line the garage walls.
* sort and arrange tools along the lines of:
- separate tools for the 7 drawer tool trolley
- separate tools for the 3 drawer tool trolley with a cabinet currently holding air tools.
- tools for the wall cabinet
- tools for the peg boards
- 'like' items go together
- Hand tool area: includes saws, hammers, screwdrivers etc. Pegboard.
- build some shelving across the back wall for storage of car parts incl. gearboxes, etc
- make some engine stands for the engines
Comments, suggestions, encouragement, advicr, case studies welcomed
