Wow! What an awesome space - looks great!!

Thank you.

Dude! Amazing job! From one Poorshaaa guy to another ... awesome.
Thanks.
Got to make the Porsche feel at home :)

Great looking garage - very clean. As I am starting to think about finishing my garage/shop, I am leaning more and more this way.

I'll remember that next time I buy paint. Do you know the names of the planes and if he every brings them out?
Thanks. I look forward to seeing the pics.

Your garage looks amazing. Really like the colors and the red for that back wall. Really well put together plan and execution.
Thank you.

Looks great!

Having a thing for German cars I especially like the theme... :)

Can I get the info on the Porsche letters too? They would make a nice addition in my new shop as well.

Thanks!

Such a clean setup! Any chance you could post a current photo taken from the outside of the garage, like the third picture in your first post?

Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic view from the drive. I find myself checking this thread often and marveling at the simplicity and sophistication of the design. One of the nicest triples I have ever seen.

Absolutely stunning! Excellent work, you live and learn on the red paint. Now just turn the car around, have only the side marker lights on and you have yourself a Porsche brochure. I also like how you noted you "deliberately" heated up the tires to test the paint....I can hear how that story would go in my house;

Wife: Why are there a stack of speeding tickets next to the mail?
Me: Don't worry about those honey, just testing out the new flooring in the garage. Just following the directions on the can.
Wife: what new flooring....

Well, I spent a few hours in the garage peeling off decals and I blame you! After seeing your garage, and then analyzing my own, I made the decision to remove some decals to tone things down. There is a LOT to be said for the clean and simple look you have achieved. Those widescreen shots are truly stunning. Do you have multiple cars, or is the Porsche it?

Wow! I like it a lot! Nice and clean!

Does the Porsche have any company in the garage?

:lol2::lol2: That is hilarious! That's exactly how it would have gone down in my house also. Luckily no fines, so she'll never know...:D
Thanks for the compliments.

Rick your garage looks superb as is. You achieved a great look imho.

As I change cars frequently, I only ever have one at a time, but my Wife gets to park her car in the garage also (as long as its clean:D

You're most welcome.

Thanks. My Wife's car lives in there too. Not a Porsche, but at least in the same family. She's the "practical" one. Being an SUV I left it out of the pics as it blocked too much of the view. She was not impressed with that comment...

GREAT looking garage!
Thanks Scuderia.

I absolutely love this idea. Do the HUSKY Cabinets come with those drawers you used for the towels? What model# of cabinet is this.

Thanks

Thanks - These are separate store bought interlocking drawers. I was looking for something that would fit well in the cabinets, and these fit perfectly.
They're nice and deep, and easy to remove which is really useful when re-packing them with clean towels.

I used 9 of these:
http://www.sterilite.com/SelectProduct.html?id=692&ProductCategory=260&section=1

And 2 of these:
http://www.sterilite.com/SelectProduct.html?id=694&ProductCategory=260&section=1

They are available at Walmart and Target (each seem to stock slightly different styles).

The Husky cabinets are the following:
http://www.homedepot.com/Storage-Or...logId=10&langId=-1&storeId=10051#.UP8qPR2umpU

I used 2 x 48 inch cabinets and 1 x 32 inch cabinet (which is the one with the cloth storage).

This looks really good.

When I start looking at the begining of the thread, and saw the picture when you had the wall painted RED I didn't liked it, way to dark. :scared:

However, now with all the rest, and the cabinets, and especially the Porsche letters, this is perfect. :rocker:

Did you make the Porsche letters ? I was thinking making a set for my place.

Cheers

Thanks for the info. I have the same problem in my garage. Paint on the concrete floor. Now I can try this in my 32 x 20 garage. Can't wait to see if it holds up this summer. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread. Thanks again for all the pictures and info. And by the way, your garage and car looks awsome!

Thanks - I'll definitely keep this updated. So far, I couldn't be happier. Had a lot of rain and dirt brought in over the last few weeks, and it is really easy to clean.

how tall are your ceilings in garage, do you have extra storage above ?

11 ft. No extra storage above.

I LOVE your garage - very tastefully done. I can't believe how organized even behind the cabinet doors too! That really appeals to my OCD!

You have really convinced me to try out the Husky cabinets in my current garage build - they look perfect against the red. Thanks for taking time to share your pics and build.

Thanks Chad. Having everything "hidden away" has made keeping the garage clean, so much easier.
I'm looking forward to seeing your garage. Did you have any coverage issues with the red paint on your previous garage?

Yes I sure did. Probably took at least 3 coats of red for my stripe. I was feeling for you when I saw your entire wall! It was worth you keeping at it though.

I have heard that painting the wall black can help first but never tried it though.

I bought a first Husky cabinet to try out after getting inspired by your set up. Really like it and suits my budget. I dream of moduline but I decided I rather have a wall full of cabinets versus only a couple for the same money. I want to go buy the rest of them but planning to paint first and then start hanging wall cabinets.

Did you decide to mount your Husky uppers directly on the wall or to their rail system. I just picked up an upper and I'm contemplating how i want to mount it.

For the one wall mounted cabinet I used the bracket which came with the unit, which is intended for the Husky rail system, however I just hung it on heavy duty wall screws.

Great now another option I have to consider for my garage floor. Thanks. I do like the clean lines you have. I am going to attempt this in my wife's garage. Although i just don't think the mini van will look as good as a Porsche would. Well one day when the kids are done with college i will have one in there

Thanks, got mine up last night and love it. Your creation definitely inspired my Husky acquisition.

Can i assume your garbage/recycling is all outside in a shed of some sort? That space you have is very enviable and you did a great job with the presentation.

Do you let your wife also park in there? :)

I know what you mean. There are a lot of good options out there. I think if I had not found this option, I probably would have gone for tile, but with no prior tiling experience, that could have been risky.

GULP! I'm envious of the Porsche and the floor it stands on! :rocker:
Thanks.

Wow! Looks like a showroom.
Thank you.

EDIT: I just noticed your signature, is that a typo for your 2004 BMW? I didn't think the 1-Series was available in 2004.

Interesting use of Rust Bullet. I had no idea it could be used on floors. We use it to coat the mild steel frames of our custom tourist buses that are used in Hawaii.

Two coats of RB and you can forget about frame rust, the stuff is amazing. Sweet looking garage.

No, at the time I lived abroad and I got the very first E87 1 Series that was available. First produced in 2004. It was a fun car.

My wife's response to this thread: "that looks MUCH better than our garage" lol

Thanks. My Wife now expects me to pay similar attention to some other rooms, so there's always a downside:headscrat

Yes it seems to be very popular, and it was the high temp rating that sparked my interest. It also seems to be incredibly tough.
