Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster. Great sight, aot of great ideas!! I am just finishing up a 30x30 garage build, and am interested in epxoy coating the floor. I guess my first question is how long should I wait before coating the new pad. It is only about 30-40days old. I tried finding info on the Rustoleum website (their product is most readily available for me) concerning this, but didn't. Secondly, I have in floor heat, did anyone use this to their advantage in drying the product? I am in central Canada, so the weather is turning cool and moist now, am I better off waiting until next summer, when it is considerbly warmer, but not necessarily any less humid?
I appreciate any insight on this, especially you guys in the colder climates.
Thanks in advance,
Dan.

Typical concrete cure time would be minimum of 28 days. Make sure the floor is un-sealed. You should not use radiant heat to help cure epoxy. This could cause it to flash cure- meaning the top of the epoxy dries before the insides, trapping vapors that would normally be released. This may cause bubbling or wrinkling. You should have the radiant heat set to a minimum or of during applicationa nd initial cure of 72 hours. Most epoxies would have a recommended application temperature of 55-90 degrees. The cooler it is the longer it takes to cure. The warmer, the shorter. Excess humidity can cause epoxies to blush- haze or dull the coating, so be careful. Rigght around 70 degrees with 60% humidity or less.
