What is that, a four drawer lateral file cabinet? Looks great to me. I'd love to know how to pinstripe...add it to the list of a thousand things I'd like to do when I retire.
Dan - It's a 5 Drawer... One of the best things I have in my Garage. The Top lid flips up and pushes in and the only Open Faced drawer is that one and it slides out - this is where I keep everything I always use (Pliers, Cutters, Needle Nose, Small cutting tools, jar of pens, pencils, and blades, a few rags, painting mask, etc). The next one holds all my Corded items - (Saws, Lights, Sanders, etc.) The next drawer hold my Tool Box and Tool Bag and Dremel Tool Box. The Next drawer Holds shop Rags, Towels, Sponges, etc. The bottom drawer has all my Hammers, Clamps, Bottle Jack (Heavy Items).
The Great thing about it is that you can only have one drawer "out" at a time. It has an Anti-Tip Locking mechanism that won't allow you to put all the weight out there at once. The top lid being up doesn't count - just if you pull it out.
(I need to paint those darn handles... Grrrrrr)

Looks good! I have wanted to learn to "pull some lines" for a while now.... just need to get some equip.

Pinstriping is a nice relaxing hobby!
It teaches you attention to detail,enhances your linear thought and provokes you to
decide what color,what line,how much....
Seek out the "Pinstipe Planet" books I and II.
Excellent ideas and the Pinhead Lounge is a great forum for seeing and learning.

I've got a Pinstripe Planet Book... I didn't know there was a II (Cool...)~!
I look through the Kustom Kulture Lounge in the "Pinstriping" section... I'll check out the Pinhead Lounge in just a few seconds...
Thanks for the tips... and yes it is amazingly enough relaxing and easy to clean up and put away... Thanks again.
I go to my Local Art Supply and they sell the Ex-Caliber and Mack brushes and "One-Shot" Paint... Check out some Forums on the topic and especially the brushes... There's 0, 00, and 000 brushes - each have a different feel and effect. As far as Paint... Some One shot and One Shot Reducer will get you down the road and have some Paint thinner to clean things up. Clean your brushes real good then wash them w/ Soap and water - apply some Hair Conditioner and store in a "sliced" piece of sponge or foam to keep the knife shape of the Squirrel Hair. Keeping the brushes is a big part of it... and when you pay $13 - $16 for a little bit of Squirrel Hair - you'll treat it good. Ha ha...

ive heard from a lot of people that soap and water is a big no no for brush cleaning. your supposed to clean your brush with whatever your using as reducer, or mineral spirits. Soap and water is sort of a emergency situation.
when i first got my ultra sonic cleaner, i thought it would be a great idea to drop a mack in to clean it up real good. NOPE, looked like the bristles got a perm. garbage with that one.

The glue that's used to attach the hairs to the handle on the pinstriping brush is water-based! Several long-time stripers have verified this too.I learned the hard way with that one...
I've fiddled with different handles and made (tried) striping brushes and yellow wood glue works great!
Mineral Spirits is all I use to clean the brush,then holding it between the palms of my hands I spin the brush to dry the hairs.
"Pinstripe Planet II" is very good! There's a thin paperback(sorry,can't remember the title but will search it) that shows fundamentals very well!

Ive got one of those 5 drawer cabinets also came out of my wifes place of employment they were going to throw it away i keep all my powder coating supplies in it i love it wish i had another.
i clean my brushes with the thinner i use, i usually clean em 2-3 times with clean thinner. then i use neetsfoot oil on the brushes, it can be found at petsmart in the horse supplies. keeps the squirrel hair soft so none of the paint dries and keeps the brushes conditioned.

On a side note, I noticed your mention of Kustom Kulture Lounge and recognized the name. Small world...Kal Koncepts is here in town and they are awesome. Craig Fraser did the art work on (our) my son's mustang no striping - custom air brushed graphics. He can do just about anything. They go all over the world attending different events and also do SEMA every year.

But as a brother of the brush, Welcome into some kinda fun!
Next time you are at the brush store, look into the round striping brushes such as Kafka or Laser Lines (from Mack). They are very forgiving and versatile.

Too cool ! Years ago I bought some One Shot and a couple of Grumbacher brushes from Eastwood. I had a couple of buddies that were showing cars at the time , so they had me do up colored plexiglass display boards with their cars specs on them. This thread makes me want try my hand at it again.

Don't wash your brushes in soap & water. The brush cconditioner may be fine , I've never used it. I've always used lard oil, you can get this from a sign supply store.
Pick up Sign Craft & Auto Art Magazines, both are good sources for ideas.

Theres one on on western just north of fullerton. if you look it up online i think its called chicago airbrush. but the store front just says art supply. they sell some mack brushes, and have a decent selection of one shot.
the other is out near wood dale. its called Earl Mich Co. they have it all, and the lady was really nice there.
