Garage pricing 2023 - Ken's Karpentry

Ken's Karpentry is a contractor in northern Vermont that specializes in building garages. For the most part they are very basic with no frills - two car, vinyl siding, metal roof, unfinished interior, and site prep and electrical costs are separate. He posted a video today discussing pricing and cost of materials for 2023:

Note that this is specific to his area, but it may at least provide a point of reference for those who are planning on building this year.

I watch him all time, his pricing also includes slab most of time. Sounds reasonable to me and look well made. That man is 68 or 69 yrs old still does roof work

I just chickened out on installing 4 new metal 18 ft panels on my 14 ft tall shed. I just called a roofing contractor to estimate it. I'm only 61 years old.

Interesting how he went through all his costs and at the end he stated he is not changing the cost for building a 24x24 garage right now. He said decreased material costs are offset by increased labor and and other increased costs.

As much as some of these people are making on YouTube they should pay us to watch them. Woops. I was responding to the Kilmer thread.

Seems like good dude. If I could get him to build me a 24' x 24' for the number he quoted, I'd have him start tomorrow. Building boom down here in the South has that at least 50% higher than his number.
