I've been lurking for quite some time and gotten some great ideas. This past summer, I have been working on my own garage-mahal and it's getting close. Here are some pics of the flooring project I completed:

All the boxes arrive:

Open a box and start:

Getting the first pattern laid down:

Another chevy product :)

Old cabinets and stairs:

The last step is I want to get rid of some of the clutter and ditch the cheapo white and get some better ones. Let me know what you think!

Funky pattern, but I think it would drive me bonkers in my garage. I like the checkplate on your stairs.

Looks great, a very similar pattern to what I'm toying with.
So did you have to cut any tiles? My garage is not to the foot, more like 21ft7inches by 22ft.
What brand tile is that?
Oh, and is the red canister on the wall a vacuum? If so, what brand and is it a blower as well?
Thanks,
Annette

The floor was painted with a DIY epoxy floor paint which I would never do again. It just scratched easy and peeled up in places. It only looked nice when freshly painted.

I had to cut two rows of tiles. The tiles can be cut with a table saw, circular saw etc pretty easily. They are 12" x 12" each. They are made by Fast-Flor.

The vacuum is a central vacuum with an extra port for the garage. No blower on that one. I also vented the vacuum exhaust outside of the garage so no dust in the house or in the garage :)

Stairs are diamond plate aluminum.

Agree on the floor pattern....hard on the eyes. Watch out for wet feet on the diamond plate - still slippery.

Need some info on that vacuum though...

It's nothing special, just a run of the mill central vacuum that I had installed in the garage. The only special part is that I had the exhaust routed outside of the garage so that any dust/dirty in the exhaust doesn't coat my garage in dust. It keeps things nice and clean. The unit has a port right on the body that I use in the garage with a long hose. You could of course run mutiple outlets in the garage if you really wanted (maybe that would have been a good idea! DOH).
