As with most of my projects I have to admit that I got a bit carried away, but finally, after 2 months (my travel schedule does not allow me to make the process I want to), my garage is finished !
Background : I went through a company relo most recently in March, moving states. While the 'main' house (the only one I will keep long term) is in Bend OR, I broked down and decided to make upgrades to the garage of my 'employment driven' home.

The previous owner of my New Jersey home (a bond trader) used to work on diesel engines for a hobby (bizarre) and the garage was a real mess. I basically stripped it down and repainted walls & ceilings + put down a solvent based expoxy coat on the floor. Since I wanted both the Porsche and Ducati logo embedded in my floor, I had to apply a base epoxy (gray), then apply the 2 logos (stickers), followed by a clear epoxy 18 hours later.
For the fanatics : I used 'Epoxy-Coat'.

The result is nothing short of phenomenal !
One big learning has been that I underestimated the work on the floor. As we all know, the quality of the end result is driven by the prep, and in case of a heavily contaminated floor that means diamond grinding and multiple washes with muriatic acid.

Results are attached. I hope my company will not move me again next year. I also hope the next owner who picks up this house likes European marques

Congrats on an absolutely beautiful project. Nice floor and great walls not to mention the rides. Can I ask the source for the Porsche logo and flag. They would look great next to my 997.
Thanks. Rick

The second picture put me in a daze. After I snapped out of it, I realized I had been starring at it for probably 5 minutes. Amazing space. Nice work.

Yup, that's EXACTLY why I hang out here. Seeing garages such as yours brings me great joy! Nice work on the floor. Sounds like you did it right.

Great job! I have been snooping here for a while also trying to pick up ideas for my shop, whenever the opportunity presents itself. The Queen and I are looking to downsize, as the kids are off in college and we have too much house. We're on the same page that I need a detached shop for my business and hobbies. Seeing jobs like this inspires me to do similar things when the time comes. Thanks for sharing the photos and the information. Congrats on the garage. You have every right to be proud of it!
