Hey folks - looking for some input and insight here.....just started a "Garage project"...

I'm building a 40' X 60' X 25' garage. 16' inside height, trusses, etc. One service door, two 14' X 14' insulated garage doors....

Planning on putting floor heat in....

I'll be posting photos soon.....

Got the foundation hole dug, forms in for the footer......pics soon....

OK I have a question regarding concrete. I'm planning on putting a lift in and the lift manufacturer recommends 4000 PSI concrete. I will be putting PEX tubing in the floor for heat (not under the area for the twin post lift). My question is: should I have fibermesh put in concrete also? Or is this overkill?

I will have rebar grids in the floor that the tubing will be attached to....

Man o man, a 40x60 with concrete footers and walls. This is going to be one nice build, not cheap either. I'll be following this thread.

More info on the magic three legged table in the first pic please. :lol_hitti

No second story - Plans are to be able to store something very large.....a toyhauler....Most toyhaulers are 13' 2"...... I've ordered 14' x 14' garage doors....

I would use Fibermesh. Fibermesh is not just for small cracks. Fibermesh creates a three dimensional support during the "plastic stage" which majority of cracks start from. During this stage the fibermesh increases the tensile strength of the concrete. Studies have shown that fibermesh is the most recommended reinforcment in concrete today.

We use it in out tankfield areas at all of our locations. I am a Petroleum/Civil Engineer for company in Notheast called Wawa, Inc. Our tank fields are specified with 4000psi fibermesh (no wire or rebar) where our gasoline hauler drops fuel...out of 299 stores no cracks.

Plans are for Floor Heat (Pex tubing) before floor is poured, 12K lb MoHawk Lift....and put RockSolid floor coating on it....

Looking at 6 bulb T5 lights...... 12~15 of them.....

Just found your thread. The building looks great. :)

I'm very interested in using sturdi-wall brackets for a future building. Can you tell me if you found information about recommended spacing and max wall height online? I've come up short. Looks like you spaced yours 7.5'. Is that the recommended spacing?

ETA: oops, overlooked the fact that this is from 2011. *slaps forehead*
