Garage rafter storage weight?

I need to store some cabinet doors up in the rafters of the garage. After getting most of them up there I started to think about the weight. These doors are pretty heavy and there are quite a few. See the pics. Is this a no-no? Should I add a vertical brace up to the ceiling joist?

Being stored close to the wall helps. Plus if you've had time to take a picture and the rafters didn't collapse in the mean time I'd say you're okay. Just keep an eye on noticeable sagging. Oh and it looks like by the pipe that something else is already hanging from the rafters.

Jesus! Well I'll answer my own question. NO, NO, NO!
I went back in and thought I heard a little creak so I thought no this isn't such a great idea. Just as I'm adjusting the ladder, SNAP. Needless to say the cabinets that I put up there carefully landed in a pile on the floor in a few minutes. One of the 2x4's cracked at a knot.

Now the question I have is. What is the smartest thing to do for the cracked truss?

Im not a framer but I would assume either replace or sister it with new lumber spanning the whole distance stagger joints on the new vs the old

Those don't look like engineered truss. Look like rafter ties. Jack up the busted tie to close the break and sister a long 2X4 to it.

I would use construction adhesive and carriage bolts to sister a new rafter up there. I would trust nails only if they are screw nails.

The bad thing is that wood is old has has to be very dried out. Driving nails or screws in it may cause more splits. So the adhesive with a few small carriage bolts to hold a sister 2X4 in place until the adhesive dries may be best.
