the outside walls are insulated good and its covered with cheap 1/4 inch paneling ( not our doing) but that will be later the wall attaching to the house was not insulated due to the heat from garage heater can go in to the laundry room

its like the garage and house were attached through a porch that was closed in and they did not heat the middle part so we have to heat it now cuz of washer and dryer
the white door in pics is getting 2 floor registers put in it for heat pass through as the garage heater works WELL (about -4 outside this winter and about 72 inside) oh yeah and it was on low

but as for the walls the cheap paneling will come down and 5/8 inch osb up (thick stuff for cheaper than plywood)
before paint

I'm curious- what's the reasoning behind using such thick wood panelling on the walls? The ability to attach things more easily?

I used sheetrock since it's about $10-12 cheaper a sheet than OSB.
I'm sure it's better to attach things, but it's just as good if you find the studs.
