Ok, so we have spent the last week cleaning, fixing holes, repainting and task yesterday was the install of the 1/8" water resistant white panelboards. I never realized how crooked some things were when we built the shop. I guess that's what you get when you have free labor. What the heck, we have some fabulous stories about it though.
Here is the latest dilemma. We glued the panels boards to the sheetrock using liquid nails construction adhesive as instructed (spreading the adhesive on the panel with a toothed trowel)-first I placed a thick bead of silicone caulk at the base then set the panels. Other than a few hiccups-it went ok. Tomorrow morning I'll silicone caulk the base of the panel to the floor.
This morning after Church I walked out to check the shop and I noticed that it appears that in areas in appears that the adhesive is bleeding through the panels!:
I think I'm going to scream.
It isn't consistent-it seems to be where perhaps the glue wasn't as thin in certain areas.
what I have done is to turn up the heat in the shop hoping that perhaps the additional heat will help it dry different or lighten up. Or am I doomed to now paint the panels I just installed? Or I guess as my wife said "well, you can just stick a bunch of bumper stickers all over the place and call it art" she then took off running for the house. Laughing I might add.
